NATIONAL AND MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE APRIL 2021

The government previously announced that the national living wage will increase by 2.2% in April 2021 and will be extended to 23 and 24 years. For workers aged under 23, Commissioners recommended smaller increases in recognition of the risks to youth employment which the current economic situation poses.

The new rates from April 2021:

23 and over £8.72 £8.91 National Living Wage
21 to 22 £8.20 £8.36
18 to 20 £6.45 £6.56
Under 18 £4.55 £4.62
Apprentices* £4.15 £4.30

 

You must be school leaving age, see the government guide lines on school leaving age, to get the National Minimum wage and aged 23 or over to get the National Living Wage.
